Overview of DELF A1
DELF A1 is the first level of the Diplôme d’Études en Langue Française. It is
issued by CIEP (Centre International d’Études Pédagogiques), now France
Éducation International. It is an officially recognized international diploma, certifying
a beginner’s level of French.
DELF A1 level and structure
Corresponds to level A1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
(CEFR). Evaluates the four skills: oral and written comprehension, oral and written production
. Tests last around 1h20 in total, with an oral interview lasting 5-7
minutes.
DELF A1 examination process
Registration with approved examination centers, cost varies by country. The
exam takes place over one day, with group and individual tests. Score out of 100,
minimum of 50/100 required to obtain the diploma.
